Sometimes in our lives we miss the obvious. We have a number of part-time students whose families, especially the younger children, must wonder what mum or dad get up to when they skip off to class at the business school. In similar fashion, we have some of our full-time students who also have their families with them, for example, our Australian Defence Force scholarships holders.
I became aware of this issue when having one of my regular coffee forums with our students and then relayed this to some of our administrative staff. From there the team went into overdrive and on Saturday 11 August we trialled a Family Fun Day for the children of our students and staff.
Well how did we go? Around 50 families attended. There was an animal farm, a bouncy castle, face painting, sports activities etc. The day was a great event and many new friendships were formed amongst the children and their parents.
